Family Day Care offers small group learning environments for children, whilst being flexible and affordable to meet the needs of the entire family.
We accommodate flexible care hours (full time, part time, casual, evenings, overnight, weekends, before and after school care, vacation care), cater for a variety of needs and interests and consider each child as an invidual.
Our Educators are early childhood professionals who offer nurturing, secure, familiar and consistent care and education for children.
Family Day Care offers low child to educator ratios (1:4,1:7), which allows educators and children to develop very strong bonds.
Children engage in rich learning environments as they learn and develop through play-based programs and experiences.
Family Day Care is accredited under the National Quality Framework (Legislation and Standards) for Early Childhood Services.
Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is available for eligible families.
QLECS (Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services), transitioning to LEQ (Lutheran Education Queensland) sits under the umbrella of the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District (LCAQD). The Approved Provider has the legal responsibility and final oversight of the service. QLECS have a Children’s Services Manager who works closely with BFDC to ensure the smooth running of the service.
We are lucky enough to have both a Coordination team and an Administration team to support our Educators, children and families.
The Coordination team conduct regular visits to Educators homes, offering mentoring, support and supervision of their practices and implementation of the Earlys Years Framework and My Time Our Place.
The Adminstration team supports the business side of things, specifically everything Child Care Subsidy and fee related. They also assist in training our Educators during the onboarding process, ensuring they are confident in using our third party software, Harmony.
The Lutheran Church of Australia (Qld District) is the sponsor of the BFDC Service and as such is responsible for the overall running of the Service. It delegates the management of the Service to the Bethesda Lutheran Church who employ a team of professional coordinators and support staff to ensure all Government guidelines and procedures are carried out.
Our Service Manager Ange has been a member of our team for 7 years now, with having an additional 14 years working in the Early Childhood Industry. Queensland born and bred, Ange has worked as the Service Educational Leader for 3 years, working alongside our Educators to promote their own professional practices. She is now working towards her Bachelor of Education on part-time basis. Ange enjoys proactively learning and developing her skills than can enhance her both of her roles as parent and Manager.
Michelle has worked within Early Childhood industry for the last 15 years, 7 of those being in Family Day Care. Michelle has completed her Diploma in Children's services and over the course of this time, she has worked as an Educator, in Administration and Leadership Roles. She is our Service Educational Leader, driving improvement and change to ensure the best outcomes for children within our Service. Michelle is passionate about supporting Educators in their role as Early Childhood Professionals, especially in the area's of children's right to play, children's wellbeing and children's social and emotional development.
When you meet Jenny, you'll quickly learn that she is from New Zealand, the North Island to be exact. A little town called Havelock North, where all of her family still resides. Jenny studied her Bachelor of Early Years -Teaching at Massey University before moving to Australia in 2005. She has worked in the industry for over 20 years in both New Zealand and Australia. Jenny has worked in centres from the North Side of Brisbane to the Gold Coast. Jenny has always enjoyed the company of children, right from she was a child herself. Throughout her childhood she was always looking after younger children whether at school at home life. Even to this day, Jenny often finds Children coming up to her when she is out and about, Children seem to sense that Jenny is someone who will react with a smile or a wave.
Lisa has worked within the Early Childhood industry for 16 years, with 6 years of this time spent with the Beenleigh Family Day Care team as a Coordinator. Lisa has completed her Diploma in Children’s services, which has given her the opportunity to step into a Lead educator role in several long day care settings. Lisa is motivated and passionate about supporting educators to provide an inclusive, nurturing, and safe learning environment for all children.
Deborah’s association with Beenleigh Family Day Care began in 1983 when she became an Educator with the service In 1992, when Bethesda Lutheran Church assumed sponsorship, Deborah, firmly believing that Family Day Care is the best childcare option, became a foundation member of the Governance Committee Deborah joined the Beenleigh Family Day Care office team in 1996, as an Admin Assistant. In 2014 Deborah completed her Certificate 4 in Bookkeeping and is currently the Senior Administrator and Bookkeeper for BFDC.
Kylie joined Beenleigh Family Day Care in 2017 and absolutely love being a part of this team who are passionate and supportive of Educators and Children’s Care and Education. Kylie has been in the Early Childhood Industry for over 25 years in numerous roles in Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney as Administrator, Director and Educator. Kylie holds a Cert 4 in Bookkeeping, Cert 3 in Accounts Administration and a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies. At home Kylie is a proud mum to three loving and energetic teenagers who keep me very busy with their school and sporting commitments.
